Why Doodhbowli Well In Telangana's Karimnagar Is 'Miraculous'
The villagers believe that Nizam Nawab used to come from Karimnagar on a horse every day to fetch water from Doodhbowli Well.

A well at the Molangpur fort in the Karimnagar district of Telangana is known for springing milk and not water. Not literally, but the water appears to be milky white. The well is situated at the foot of Molangpur Fort in the middle of the rocks without any waterfall or the sea layer around it. The villagers believe that the well contains healing water. It is popularly known as Doodhbowli in local parlance. It is located 30 km from Karimnagar district. People of this village treasure the water as milk and use it for drinking and other household chores.

The people of Molangpur village consider the water from this well as a cure for all diseases. During Corona, not a single case was reportedly registered in the village due to drinking water from this well. Since then, the campaign for this well water has gained momentum. Not only locals but also people from surrounding villages come here to fetch the milky water from the well. A villager named Mallesham expresses his astonishment and says that the mystery always lies behind the water from the well. It is much more pure than the so-called purified water sold to them in cans, claimed Mallesham. “During the Covid-19 pandemic, people used to come to this well from far-off villages to draw water and take it back as they believed it had not only nutrients but also therapeutic value” said Mallesham.

Doodhbowli Well also shares a history with Nizam rule. Nawab also used to drink the water of this well. The villagers believe that Nizam Nawab used to come from Karimnagar on a horse every day to take water. It is said that Nizam Nawab drank the water of this well because of its medicinal value. Even though drinking water is still being supplied from house to house through the wells, it should be noted that the villagers of Molangur are drinking water from that well.

Interested people can visit Doodhbowli well through the Warangal bus from Karimnagar district. The villagers also aspire to turn the place into a tourist destination.
