KOCHI: A day after the Kerala Police launched a first-of-its-kind portal for online advanced queue placement facility for Sabarimala darshan, the portal got heavy response from various corners. The response was so heavy that the portal crashed on Monday after receiving more number of hits than it can handle.Sabarimala.keralapolice.gov.in — launched by the Police Computer Centre, under the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) has got more than 2,500 responses from devotees across the country on the first day itself. The portal will have information in five languages — Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and English. “The portal will be completely operational only by November 16. However, we started the  trial run, which received good response. Once the portal is completely operational, we’ll start SMS facility also,” said sources. The portal will have facilities for devotees, including information on queue system. “Devotees can check advance queue coupon booking, live queue status, live weather condition at Pampa and Sannidhanam and parking availability through the portal. They can get this information through SMS too. For queue status they have to send the message — ‘SBL Q’, for parking ‘SBL P’, for weather ‘SBML W’ and for help they should send ‘SBML HELP message’. The messages should be sent to 537252. This facility will be operational from November 16,” sources said.
