New Delhi: The first song from The Dirty Picture was released on October 21 and Vidya Balan lives up to expectations of thousands with her chest-heaving rendition of Ooh La La - Tu Hai Meri Fantasy .
Wearing a shocking pink, bead-embellished bodice, Balan plays southern sex symbol Silk Smitha whose short life was marked with both phenomenal success and despair.
The film brings to life the jolly 80s as Balan and Naseeruddin Shah dance to the groovy song in orange, colour-matched clothes. Lemons roll down the hills as dancers run around a stage stacked high with earthen pots reminiscent of a Jeetendra era.
Bappi Lahiri, the man responsible for the inception of rock and jazz in Hindi films, has sung the 'Ooh La La' song.
The song has the exact tempo and sensation which can take the audiences to an era when Silk Smitha ruled the screen. The song is filmed well too and the suggestive dance moves by Balan are capable enough to bring that spirited vigour out which was once associated with the ultimate sex siren of south India.
The film has the life and times of Silk in the centre who was known for her energetic dance. Her mysterious death and link ups with fellow stars would make the storyline of the film.
Bappi Lahiri has teamed up with the composer duo of Vishal-Shekhar for 'Oo La La'. They are familiar with each other's working style as they had also worked together for the song 'Bambai Nagaria' of the film 'Taxi No 9211'.
Bappi Lahiri has shown confidence that the song will leave 'Munni Badnam' and 'Sheila Ki Jawani' behind in popularity.
