Vaiko threatens to leave DMK alliance
MDMK chief Vaiko hinted at walking out of the seven party Karunanidhi led DPA alliance. He aligned with the DMK before the 2001 Lok Sabha elections.

New Delhi: With just a few months left before Tamil Nadu goes to the polls, first signs of trouble for the opposition in the state have begun to surface.

MDMK chief Vaiko on Tuesday hinted at walking out of the seven party Karunanidhi led DPA alliance. Vaiko has aligned with the DMK before the 2001 Lok Sabha elections.

Vaiko, who is in the capital currently for the UPA coordination committee met the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and conveyed his displeasure at being given what he says a 'raw deal'.

Vaiko has told the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that he will remain within the UPA, but is prepared to leave the DMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu.

Interestingly, Vaiko had said that his party is like the O positive blood group, meaning that they were universal donors and could ally with any party.

AIADMK chief Jayalalitha is also busy wooing Vaiko, the man whom she sent to prison under POTA for 19 months. Meanwhile, Karunanidhi has also said that he is willing to 'sacrifice' some seats to retain him.

What's your reaction?
