KOCHI: The Ernakulam North police have arrested two youngsters with 210 gm of ganja from the city. The arrested are Ashkar, 29, of Kattithara Road, Edakochi, and Sunil Kumar, 30, of Lalvani House, Marad. They were accused in drug cases earlier also, the police said. The arrests were made after the police got information that the two youngsters were selling drugs on ESI Road near the North railway station around 10 am.
The police said the duo were selling ganja at Rs 100 a packet. Ashar, who was arrested in the case, has been named in the Goonda list at the Palluruthy police station. A number of cases have been registered against him under Palluruthy, Thoppumpady North, Central and Kalamassery police stations for selling ganja and drug ampoules. He is also a wanted criminal in a number of cases. The police said some cases have been registered against Sunil Kumar after he was found in mysterious circumstances in Aluva.The two were arrested by a police team led by North CI P M Saheer as per the directions of Ernakulam Assistant Commissioner Sunil Jacob.

The other officials in the team included North SI S Vijayasanker, Additional Sub Inspector N Madhavan Nair, ASI Soman, senior civil police officer Salim and Jacob Mani and civil police officer Harris.
