Hariharganj: Even as the first phase of voting in Jharkhand Assembly elections is underway, Naxal threat remains a cause for concern especially along the Gaya-Jharkhand border region.

For the past 48 hours, a powerful tunnel bomb planted by Naxals has not been diffused. Residents of surrounding villages of Koti and Chatra are living in constant fear even as the Bihar and Jharkhand police are engaged in a blame game.

Residents allege police did not concentrate on diffusing the bomb that was found and instead disagreed on whose jurisdiction the area fell under.

Four landmines have also been recovered in Hariharganj, Palamu in Jharkhand which the police are trying to defuse. Meanwhile, two suspected Naxals were arrested from Simdega district in Jharkhand. Arms were recovered from them.
