TTD renovates 986 old cottages on Tirumala

TIRUMALA: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman Kanumuri Bapiraju inspected the cottages that have been renovated at Tirumala on Sunday. Speaking to the media here on Sunday, he said that the TTD has taken up the task of renovating the old cottages at Tirumala at the cost of `36 crore. Currently, of the 3,471 cottages, 986 have been renovated at the cost of `4 crore. The remaining 2,485 cottages will be renovated by March 2012, the chairman said.
"We are contemplating to go for fresh tenders for another 1,620 major and 124 minor works. We have invited Nagarjuna constructions for negotiations to take up these works after the Brahmotsavams," he said.TTD JEO KS Srinivasa Raju, CVSO MK Singh, CE Chandra Sekhar Reddy, Health officer Bhishmaiah Naidu, Reception Deputy EOs Varalakshmi, Narayana Chetty and others were present.
