HYDERABAD: JC Diwakar Reddy, MLA from Tadipatri in Anantapur district, has reiterated his demand for formation of a Rayala Telangana state comprising the regions of Rayalaseema and Telangana in case of state’s division.Speaking with mediapersons in the Assembly lobbies on Wednesday, the former minister said the people of Anantapur and Kurnool districts were very much in favour of a Rayala Telangana. He said consultations among the MLAs from the two districts were going on and they would meet the party high command to put forward their proposal. The subject came up for discussion between Diwakar Reddy and TDP’s Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu. When Reddy said the TRS and MIM were favourable to the Rayala Telangana idea but TDP president N Chandrababu was the main hurdle to it, Muddukrishnama said Reddy was jumping the gun and had no basis to allege that Naidu would obstruct Rayala Telangana. He said Diwakar Reddy was, in fact, a staunch integrationist which was why he had resigned as minister when the Centre made the announcement on December 9, 2009
