ARIYALUR:Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) chairman R Sellamuthu on Saturday surrendered before the Judicial Magistrate Court here as per the order of the Principal District & Sessions Court Judge in connection with a case filed by his brother.Sellamuthu’s brother Kuzhandaivelu, in a complaint filed with the Senthurai police, had stated that Sellamuthu had threatened him and his family members to vacate the house at Eluppaiyur village on or before July 10, 2011. He had also claimed that Sellamuthu had abused him and threw stones at them in which a tile of the house was broken. When Kuzhandaivelu wanted to register a complaint with the Senthurai police, the police allegedly did not register it initially. Hence, Kuzhandaivelu sought the Madras High Court’s direction to register the complaint with the Senthurai Police. Then the court ordered the Senthurai Police to register the case. A case was registered against Sellamuthu. Fearing arrest, the TNPSC chairman sought anticipatory bail from the Principal District & Sessions Judge Court, Ariyalur, on November 30, 2011.The Judge, on December 1, 2011, ordered Sellamuthu to remit a surety amount of `10,000 and asked him to surrender before the Judicial Magistrate Court and granted him anticipatory bail.Sellamuthu visited the Judicial Magistrate Court and surrendered on Saturday as per the court order.
