London: Filmmaker Peter Jackson says he grew up reading Tintin and the fictional hero was like an older brother to him.

Jackson, 50, who produced the film directed by Steven Spielberg is in talks to direct the sequel, reported Femalefirst online.

"You grow up looking at Tintin, in my case, being an only child - he was like the brother that I wished I had. The older brother that went on these adventures, dangerous and exciting. And then as I grew older, Tintin stayed the same age, and I sort of became older than him," he said.

"And you start to appreciate the satire and the world in which Herge lived in. The decades of incredible social upheaval in Europe...," he added.

But before Jackson can begin work on any Tintin sequel there is the small part of 'The Hobbit' to be completed. The film has been split into two parts and will be released in winter of 2012 and 2013.
