New Delhi: Three girls were attacked with acid in Madhya Pradesh. The girls were students of a girls college in Shivpuri, they were returning after tuition when a boy threw the acid on them and ran away.

The accused is absconding. A police case under Section 324 for physical assault has been registered.

The police is likely to file a case under Section 307 as well. This is not the first incident of acid attacks on girls. In December 2008, three boys threw acid at two engineering students in Warangal.

The police has filed a case and investigations are on.

"We have not fully identified the boy but the girls have described the physical features of the boy who threw acid at them. We are trying to find out and trace him. The girls are fine, they are talking to each other. They had seen the boy earlier. We have filed a case against him under 307 and 324," said SP Shivpuri Sanjay Singh.
