Thiruvarur's Sathish Kumar and Sathyaseelan Help Over 300 Rural Youth Secure Govt Jobs

For poor rural youth in Tamil Nadu, securing a government job is not an easy task. With competitive exams now required for all types of government positions, the central and state governments fill their vacancies based on these exams. In this context, a small free coaching class started in the Delta district of Tamil Nadu with the aim of coaching aspirants for government jobs. This initiative has now trained and placed over 300 government officials in both central and state government positions.

Sathish Kumar from Adiyakkamangalam in Thiruvarur district started as a police constable in 2012 and served in the Thiruvarur Armed Forces Police. In 2019, he passed the exam for Assistant Examiner in the Forensic Department and is now working as an Assistant Forensic Inspector in Thiruvarur district. In 2017, Sathish Kumar, along with his friend Sathyaseelan, began coaching over 10 poor students from the surrounding areas. Many of these students have successfully secured government jobs. To date, more than 300 students have benefited from these free coaching classes and are now working in various government positions.

Specifically, these students have been employed in the Tamil Nadu Police, paramilitary forces, and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) jobs. Currently, over 150 students are receiving free training for Tamil Nadu Police positions, Group 4 jobs, firefighter roles, Indian Railways positions, and SSC jobs. Former students who are now employed are providing financial assistance for room rent and necessary educational materials for current students. It is noteworthy that students not only from Thiruvarur district but also from various regions like Kanyakumari, Coimbatore, and Cuddalore come here for training.

The students have requested that the Tamil Nadu government provide a sports ground, a hostel, and a training centre in this area to accommodate a larger number of students. Full assistance is given to students from poor families after thorough verification of their backgrounds.
