Mumbai: A special TADA court on Friday, allowed the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Mumbai Police to conduct lie detector and other scientific tests on extradited gangster Abu Salem in connection with the probe into Pradeep Jain murder case.
Reacting to public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam's plea, the TADA court judge allowed ATS to perform brain mapping, lie detection (polygraph) and narco-analysis test on Salem.
The prosecutor told the court that Salem had disclosed names of certain persons who were a part of his financial chain of collection and distribution of extortion money.
ATS needed to subject Salem to scientific tests to find out whether Salem was speaking the truth, he said.
As part of the court requirements, Nikam presented Salem's consent to undergo the tests.
