Mumbai: Suneil Shetty and Malaika Arora Khan were on the sets of Nach Baliye on Monday morning to promote their film EMI.
With the current financial dip in the markets and credit crunch, producer Suneil Shetty couldn't hope for a better time to release his film which is a take lives which revolve around loans, credit cards and EMI's.
“I think it can't be more topical, it's the perfect time for a film like that, because it also teaches you a lesson or two of the use of the credit card, whether a credit card is better than a debit card. Talks about home loan, educational loan, home loan, travel loan and how easily one gets it, but can and will people pay it,” says Suneil Shetty.
EMI is also a debut of sorts for Malaika Arora Khan as this is her first full fledged role. “My character is such that I play today's a very young urban girl, to live one high life I am capable to taking a loan- that's the kind of girl I am. To know you have to see the film, to see all the characters.
“They are all very different characters, they have different graphs, they are all very interesting characters and very real. There is a father, son, a DJ, there's me very real characters, people that you identify with in every day life,” says Malaika Arora.
It is also interesting to know if the actors themselves are also hit by EMI.
“When I started my career, not as an actor, but when I used to work with dad, in the restaurant time I always spent more than I earned and that's the time you realize that you have to pay back. Doesn't necessarily have to be the use of a credit card, because a credit card wasn't used as much then, but repayment to the bank when I bought my 1st car,” says Suneil Shetty.
Apart from Malaika Arora, Urmila and Arjun Rampal - EMI features Sanjay Dutt in the role of a ruthless recovery agent. Hope producer Suniel Shetty doesn't have to face his tribe in real life once the film releases on November 7th.
