The Rotary Club of Madras, in association with Nippon Paints, will be organising dandiya garba raas on October 13 at 7.00 pm at Hotel Vivanta, Taj Connemara.
This is the eighth year in row that the Rotary Club of Madras is organising dandiya night in a traditional Gujarathi way to celebrate the Navarathri festival. Garba is performed by clapping hands, while dandiya is played using colourful sticks.
Prizes will be given in categories, including best dancing couple, best male and female dancer and best dressed couple and many more.
The prizes include watches from Helvetica, a stay at Radisson resort GRT, gift coupons from Europa, ITC gift hampers, gift Coupons from Poppat Jamal, etc. Taj Connemara will lay out a special authentic Gujarati vegetarian cuisine ranging from dhokla, patra, oondhiya, thepla, marcha na bhajia, muthia, bajra ni roti, tamatar nu shaak to name a few.
