Rajesh and Nupur Talwar on Thursday moved a petition in a special CBI court seeking 10 days time to challenge its June 18 order turning down their pleas, in which they had sought reports of scientific tests and demanded a number of exhibits to be examined by their DNA expert.

The dentist couple sought the time to challenge the trial court's order in the Allahabad High Court.

The Talwar couple also seek to challenge the trial court's decision, in which it had permitted to record the statements of seven witnesses out of the list of 13 persons the accused couple had submitted.

According to Talwars' counsel Manoj Sisodia, "We have moved a new application in trial court seeking a ten-day time for challenging its June 18 order declining our applications regarding submissions of scientific tests, case-related other documents and exhibits to be examined by our DNA expert and only allowing 7 out of a total 13 defence witnesses for recording their statements in court."

The court is likely to pronounce its order on Talwars' application on Friday.

On June 18, the special CBI court had allowed to record the statements of seven witnesses out of the list of 13 persons the accused couple had submitted.

However, the court had rejected two other pleas of the dentist couple, in which they had sought reports of scientific tests and demanded a number of exhibits to be examined by their DNA expert.
