HYDERABAD: ‘What to do on Telangana and what should be done so that people believe us on the issue’ is the agenda of Telangana Congress Steering Committee meeting to be held at Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao's house at 10 am on Saturday. The steering committee meeting being held after two weeks has gained significance for various reasons, including return of AICC president Sonia Gandhi to Delhi after undergoing a surgery in a US hospital in August and end of the monsoon session of Parliament.Issues pertaining to launch of Sakala Janula Samme on September 13 by Telangana employees, Seemandhra public representatives’ proposed meeting with Union minister and in-charge of AP affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad in Delhi on September 12, Rajahmundry MP Vundavalli Aruna Kumar's proposal to have Hyderabad as the joint capital of Seemandhra and Telangana states will be discussed at the meeting.According to committee spokesperson and MLA G Venkata Ramana Reddy, Telangana Congress leaders will make an appeal to Telangana employees to postpone their proposed Sakala Janula Samme. Though the committee will extend its support to the proposed strike, its postponement is advisable to give some more time to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and the Central Government to take a political decision on the issue. Already, Ghulam Nabi Azad is on the job of holding consultations with the leaders of Telangana and Seemandhra. The consultations are likely to be completed by October. As of now, the T Congress MLAs have no plan to quit their posts, he said.Committee member and MLA T Rajaiah said they would finalise their future action of action on Telangana on Saturday. Steering committee chairman and minister K Jana Reddy is expected to chair Saturday’s meeting.
