New Delhi: A day after CNN-IBN exposed the web of lies that three-time MP Mani Kumar Subba had created for three decades about his nationality, politicians from across party lines spared no words in their criticism.
Cutting across party lines, all MPs have said that Subba should resign. His "home" state Assam, is stunned by the dubious citizenship row.
That's not all there is to Subba's dubious past. Subba is a Nepali citizen, against whom a murder charge exists and he has been absconding from his country for over three decades now.
The Opposition parties mounted pressure both inside and outside the state Assembly, while people were horrified how the MP could contest and become a law maker of the country despite having dubious nationality and a murder charge.

''My head hangs in shame,'' Opposition leader Brindabon Goswami was quoted by news agency UNI as saying.
''This blot in Indian democracy will never go even if he is ousted from Parliament,'' he added.
The Congress has kept a low profile as Subba has been their chief fund raiser for the past one and half decades. All attempts to get an official statement from the state headquarters proved futile.
''What has been published about Subba and whatever has been shown on television is nothing new. Asom's media have been telling these for the last 10 years but the Congress Government never felt it important enough to take it seriously. They are after his colossal ill-gotten money which he amassed through gambling,'' BJP MLA Mission Ranjan Das was quoted by UNI as saying.
