In order to sensitise students on environmental issues, a half-day event titled ‘Greening the mind’ was organised the other day at Kanthari International Institute for Social Entrepreneurship.
The event brought together students from two schools, L’ecole Chempaka and GR Public School, in the city. Games, film show, tour around the green campus and interactive learning session were organised to impart environmental education to the students.
Kanthari participants, undergoing a social entrepreneurship course of seven months’ duration, welcomed the students. The participants, coming from 10 countries, introduced themselves to the students and the students were asked to identify those continents and countries on the world map displayed on the screen.
The students were later divided into four groups and each group simultaneously participated in various learning activities. The programme concluded with messages to students on taking decisions on cutting down on the use of energy and living a responsible life that can ensure a sustainable environment.
