BANGALORE: An 18-year-old college student was assaulted by three persons for allegedly teasing a girl who was their sister. He later succumbed to the injuries in the hospital in airport police station limits in the wee hours of Thursday.The deceased has been identified as Deepak, a resident of 2nd Cross, Sriramanagar. The accused have been identified as Selvam, Govinda and Manja, all residents of the same area. According to the police, Deepak teased his classmate who was also the sister of the accused. The girl was studying with him in the Saint Joseph’s College and he had allegedly proposed to her. He was also spreading rumours about her and this made her brothers furious, police said.Selvam, Govinda and Manja had warned him earlier in this regard. But when he continued the same, at 1.30 am they went to him and slapped him on the face and banged then his head on the wall.Deepak became unconscious and his relatives rushed him to the hospital, where he was declared dead. The accused are in judicial custody. A murder case has been registered.
