Barring a few areas where southwest monsoon showed signs of revival, rains evaded Rajasthan and most parts of the state reeled under heat wave on Juy 13.
Churu was the hottest place in the state as it recorded maximum temperature at 45 degrees Celsius, about 6 notches more than the normal level, a eteorological department official said.
Light to moderate rains occurred at isolated pockets over northern Rajasthan including Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer districts in the last 24 hours.
Srinagar recorded the maximum rainfall of 9 cm, Gogunda 6, Mandalgarh, Gangrar and Kushalgarh 4 cms each, Nasirabad, Banswara, Rawatbhata, Bhilwara and Pushkar 3 cms each, and one to 2 cms at a number of places in Ajmer and Kota divisions.
Most parts of the state continued to reel under heat wave as Ganganagar recorded the maximum temperature of 43.7 degrees followed by Jaipur 42.4 degrees this afternoon.
The Meteorological department has forecast rains in Jaipur and surrounding areas by night.
The monsoon will advance over rest of the state in the next 24 hours, Met said.
