The Madhya Pradesh government has allotted 180 hectares of land to set up the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO), on Thursday, at Borda village in Bhopal district's Hujoor tehsil.

The Madhya Pradesh government has allotted 180 hectares of land to set up the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO), on Thursday, at Borda village in Bhopal district's Hujoor tehsil.

"At a cabinet meeting chaired by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Thursday, it was decided to allot 180 hectares of land to the NTRO at Borda village," Madhya Pradesh's Public Relation and Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma told reporters.

The NTRO is a premier apex scientific agency under the National Security Adviser in the Prime Minister's Office, which was set up in 2004 and also includes the National Institute of Cryptology Research and Development (NICRD), which is first of its kind in Asia.

The government would spend Rs 694 crore in two phases to set up 18 new industrial in the areas of infotech, food processing, textiles, automobiles and pharmaceuticals, the minister said.

The MP cabinet sanctioned sanctioned Rs 429.24 crore in the 12th Five Year Plan to install install CCTV cameras in 61 cities.

It sanctioned Rs 190 crore to implement a traffic management plan for five major cities including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Ujjain.

Other important cabinet decisions include setting of a Sugarcane Research Centre at Bohani in Narsinghpur district at an investment of Rs 8 crore and opening offices of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in Sagar and Ujjain.
