New Delhi: As the country gets colourful on Holi, politicians are not left behind in celebrating the festival of colours.
In the Capital, Congress President Sonia Gandhi celebrated Holi by distributing clothes and gifts to a group of special children who were guests at a cultural show organised at her 10 Janpath road residence.
While former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was in much of a Holi mood as well, it was nothing to beat Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, who was seen in full form playing with colours at his residence in Patna.
Lalu had started the celebrations early on Saturday itself, seemingly happy with his Railway budget presentation last week.
However, the minister promised that the real party was slated for Sunday. And on D-Day, the famous dance, where men dress as women, was on.
And Holi can't be Holi without a bit of political jibing. For those who couldn't join him in the celebrations on Sunday, Lalu is offering a Sushashan Gutkha, a not-so-subtle reference to Nitish Kumar penned by Bhojpuri poet, Birendra Vachaspati.
