VILLUPURAM: Parents of four-year-old UKG student who was sexually abused by a teacher and the school principal in Kallakurichi welcomed the Madras High Court decision of transferring the investigation to the CBI from the CB-CID. They appealed to the CBI not to ask their child to recall the incident as she was now coming out of the trauma and regaining a normal life.Speaking to Express, parents said the child was tired of explaining the entire episode to the investigating again and again.Child’s mother said, “Earlier, she would cry in her sleep at midnights. We would console and calm down her. Now, she had come out of those memories and getting well. We are afraid that if the CBI questions her repeatedly it might disturb her psychologically.”Earlier, the CB-CID personnel had taken the child to the school and asked her to locate the spot where the incidents happened. The investigation officers also asked the child to explain the entire episode several times and each time the child had to tell all. The investigation process might leave a mark in the mind of the child. Her mother said, “We are ready to extend fullest support to CBI,” and pleaded not to disturb their child during the investigation. After the incident girl’s mother is tutoring her at home. Her father said, “When we go out, people inquire about the incident and it hurts us. For that reason, we have been confining our child within home.” The parents also requested the CBI officials not to take the child to the spot again and pleaded not to subject her to further medical examination.
