BHUBANESWAR: Controversy continues to dog the Sindol project as the Congress and the BJP declined to be members in the House Committee, headed by Speaker Pradip Amat, to listen to the local people on the project. The Speaker had announced that a House Committee should be constituted to hear the opinion of the people on the project and asked the State Government not to proceed with any project work till the report is submitted. Amat had also announced a House Committee, headed by him, in the Assembly on Saturday. Opposition Chief Whip Prasad Harichandan said the Congress had announced that it would not be part of the committee. Similarly, the BJP has also declined to be member of the committee. The BJD, however, maintained that a decision on the project would be taken basing on the recommendations of the committee.
