TIRUNELVELI: District Collector R Selvaraj imposed prohibitory orders at Radhapuram Taluk - under which Koodankulam and Idinthakarai fall - from Monday evening at 3 pm. It will be effective until April 2. The Collector told Express that Section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed in the taluk as political leaders, various organisations and individuals are likely to instigate the agitators at Idinthakarai. The prohibitory order would be effective till 3 pm on April 2, he added. In a press release issued here on Monday, the Collector added that the prohibitory order was imposed to also protect Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant workers and to ensure they were not prevented from working there. It was also intended to give protection to the public and to prevent any untoward incident, the Collector added.
