Scindia School sets up panel to probe alleged ragging of Bihar Minister's son
"The cause of the incident is being investigated by a special committee set up by the school and appropriate action will be taken following the findings in the matter," said the Scindia school management.

Gwalior: The Scindia School management on Saturday issued a statement expressing their grief and shock over the incident where a student was found unconscious in the dormitory on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 around 9PM. "The cause of the incident is being investigated by a special committee set up by the school and appropriate action will be taken following the findings in the matter," said the school management.

The student, son of a Bihar minister, has been battling for his life in a Delhi hospital and is still on a life support system. The family has said that the boy was ragged in school which led to this condition. The family has also accused the school of not informing authorities or his local guardian on time.

The Gwalior police too suo moto cognizance of the case and ordered an inquiry. Meanwhile, the police have also said it was prima facie a case of ragging. A forensic team has begun investigation into the case.

Santosh Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, said, "We are gathering details from eyewitnesses. We will establish the sequence of events so."

The school management has said that the boy reportedly fell unconscious and had to be hospitalised.
