London: Scarlett Johansson has criticised Woody Allen's adopted daughter Dylan Farrow, who accused the filmmaker of molesting her when she was a child in an article, for blaming celebrities like her for working with the director.
Johansson, who collaborated with Allen on films like 'Match Point' and 'Vicky Christina Barcelona', broke her silence on the feud that had Hollywood taking sides in an interview to the Guardian newspaper.
Dylan, 28, criticised Johansson, Cate Blanchett, Emma Stone, Diane Keaton and Alec Baldwin for working with Allen in her New York Times essay this year where she renewed allegations of sexual assault against Allen.
Johansson, 29, however, feels it is irresponsible to blame actors like her.
"I think it's irresponsible to take a bunch of actors that will have a Google alert on and to suddenly throw their name into a situation that none of us could possibly knowingly comment on. That just feels irresponsible to me."
When asked whether the allegations would affect her relationship with Allen, Johansson said, "I don't know anything about it. It would be ridiculous for me to make any kind of assumption one way or the other."
Johnasson seemed surprised when asked if there's any "backlash" against the 'Blue Jasmine' filmmaker.
"I'm unaware that there's been a backlash. I think he'll continue to know what he knows about the situation, and I'm sure the other people involved have their own experience with it. It's not like this is somebody that's been prosecuted and found guilty of something, and you can then go, 'I don't support this lifestyle or whatever.' I mean, it's all
guesswork," the actress said.
