HYDERABAD: There was a mixed response to educational institutions’ bandh in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions protesting against deletion of 14 (f) in the presidential order. While there was no bandh in some districts, it was total in some others. There was no bandh Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Kurnool and Krishna districts and Vijayawada town. All educational institutions worked as usual in these districts. The bandh was partial in Tirupati and the twin districts of East and West Godavari. However, the bandh was complete in Guntur, Prakasam, Anantapur, Nellore, Kadapa districts. Students observed bandh in Nagarjuna University and Srikrishna Devaraya Universities. The bandh passed off peacefully barring some stray incidents. Students took out rallies and organised human chains in Guntur district. Students JAC Krishna district convener T Sai Krishna and two others were arrested when they were trying to force educational institutions to observe bandh. Students broke the wind pans of some buses in Nellore district.The Samaikyandhra student Joint Action Committee had called for bandh on Thursday protesting against the Centre recommending the President to delete the clause 14(f) from the Presidential orders.
