Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has already made the first move to give a new out look to the states capital by setting up a vision group, comprising corporates and influencers for Bengaluru.

Bengaluru: Bengaluru, the IT city, desperately needs a makeover. The garbage menace, pot holes, dengue outbreak, terrible traffic management, unfinished infrastructure projects -- there are hundreds of problems the Silicon Valley of India is facing today.

"I Think for a city that aspires with being a IT Hub, smart city, we have been an ugly city, most congested, garbage menace, lakes are frothing so many problems,"

Desperate to boost its popularity ratings in the run-up to the 2018 assembly polls, the Siddaramaiah government has decided to pump in Rs 7,300 crore to give Bengaluru a complete revamp in the next two years.

The projects involve massive road infrastructure development, construction of underground drainages, stormwater drains, development of footpaths, cleaning of lakes, waste management and funds for civic departments.

Time and again the successive governments have allocated money, but when it comes to execution thats where governments have failed. Experts feel that rapidly growing Bangalore city needs a strategic plan to tackle issues rather just money being given to civic agencies.
