PUDUCHERRY: Students and parents associations have urged the state government to act legally against the Common Entrance Test (CET) introduced by Medical Council of India (MCI) for admission of students in medical colleges.V Balasubramanian, president of a parents association, said that the Puducherry government should move the High Court for a stay on the newly introduced directive of the MCI as was done recently by the Tamilnadu government.‘The government needs to act fast as the date for the entrance examination has already been announced;these sorts of entrance exams are against the interests of the rural students,as many of them coming from poor families cannot afford the expensive coaching classes needed to prepare them for the competitive exams,’ said V Balasubramanian.
