BANGALORE: A day after he was suspended from the BJP for contesting as a rebel candidate for Rajya Sabha elections, B S Yeddyurappa’s staunch supporter B J Puttaswamy is facing the threat of his nomination papers being rejected after BJP MLA Aravind Limbavali withdrew his proposal to Puttaswamy’s nomination papers on Tuesday.Limbavali filed an affidavit before Assembly secretary P Omprakash withdrawing his proposal. “Since Puttaswamy had mentioned in his papers that he was a party candidate, I proposed his name. I am withdrawing my proposal after I came to know that he was not an official candidate of the BJP.”The BJP has also decided to question Puttaswamy’s nominations on three grounds — that he is not an official candidate, that he was not given B form and that he was holding an office of profit while filing nominations. Puttaswamy’s resignation as CM’s political secretary was accepted on Tuesday. However, the fate of his nomination will be decided on Wednesday afternoon.
