BANGALORE: Thousands braved frequent showers to protest against anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare’s detention. They demanded a strong Lokpal bill and supported more than 70 people who are sitting on indefinite hunger strike on Wednesday. Three people, including 70-year-old Dharmaraj and Yogeshwar who had undertaken indefinite fast, fainted by 4.00 pm and were taken to Victoria Hospital. By afternoon, the Freedom Park was overcrowded as many college students came in processions from all directions. People of all age groups joined the students from most of the major colleges including Government Ayurvedic Medical College, MES College, KLE College and Acharya Institute of Technology and actively participated in the protest. Sixty five-year-old R K Mehta, a retired DGM of BHEL, said, “I came to see my son participate in the protest and got inspired to join the protesters. I am very happy to be a part of this protest, a national movement. We are determined to stop corruption anyhow now.”
