Alain Robert, popularly known as the “French Spiderman” was arrested in Kuala Lumpur for climbing the Twin Towers.

New Delhi: He comes, he sees and climbs. Forty-four-year-old Alain Robert, popularly known as the “French Spiderman”, is a daredevil climber who has scaled skyscrapers around the world without ropes.

On Tuesday, Robert tried his hands at scaling Malaysia's 88-story Petronas Twin Towers with his bare hands for the second time in 10 years.

He evaded security guards at the world's tallest twin towers and reached the 60th floor before giving himself up.

A crowd of about 500 people had gathered while Robert made his way up without any safety equipment.

It was reported that he was barely visible once he passed the 40th story of the 452-metre (1,483-foot) building.

The Petronas Twin Towers are the tallest twin towers in the world, and they lay claim to being the world's tallest high rise of the 20th century.

Robert was making a beeline for the top of the towers wearing a yellow T-shirt, which according to reports was specially made to memorialise his Malaysian bid.

His feat was finally put to halt when a team of firemen and policemen ordered him to re-enter the building through an opening on the 60th floor.

He was handcuffed and escorted back to the ground before he was taken away in a police car.

This was not the first time that the modern day Spiderman had made an attempt to climb the Twin Towers.

The towers have remained a challenge for him because he has often been denied permission for their ascent.

He was arrested on the 60th floor of the other tower, a mission he accomplished in 30 minutes, exactly 10 years ago.

Robert has climbed over 65 buildings around the world, including the Eiffel Tower, London's Canary Wharf building, New York's Empire State Building and Chicago's Sear's Tower.
