New Delhi: Taliban have established their own media outlets in the Swat Valley, using terror as a force multiplier.
Imitating tactics used by the al-Qaeda in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Taliban have also released a propaganda video showing Taliban declaring a war against the state by attacking soldiers with sophisticated sniper rifles.
Other heavy weapons have also reportedly made their way into Swat through the porous Afghan border.
Officials say hostile intelligence agencies are sponsoring the Taliban militants. The main aim of the video is to target security forces and terrorise common people in the valley.
The video shows techniques used by the Taliban to terrorise people by flogging them in public in the name of swift justice, or employing a guerilla method in organised units, with some comprising upto 20 men who carry out hit-and-run attacks and then disperse into the mountains or among the civilian population.
Also seen in the video are militants making Improvised Explosive Devices to target the convoys of security forces.
