CHENNAI: The Election Commission on Monday announced that those voting in the Sankarankoil Assembly constituency on March 18 should either use their Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) or the voter slip to exercise their franchise as no other document will be accepted as identity proof.In a release, Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar said: “All voters in Sankarankoil Assembly constituency should bring their EPIC when they come for voting.If any voter has lost or misplaced his EPIC, he/she can bring the voter slip.” Voters will be given voters slip through Booth Level Officers by March 14.In constituencies where EPIC coverage is 100 per cent, EC has instructed that only photo identity card or voter slip will be accepted as ID proof. During the Tiruchy West bypoll as well, the EC had issued similar directions.
