A man was killed and another seriously injured when a speeding truck hit their motorcycle in Kanpur, the police said on Friday. The incident happened on Thursday when Chandrika and Ankul, both salesmen in a liquor shop, were going to their shop.

The truck tried to overtake them near Ramadevi crossing and accidentally hit their motorcycle, they said. The duo were taken to Hallet hospital where Chandrika was declared brought dead and Ankul's condition was stated to be critical.
A case has been registered against the absconding truck driver,the police said.
