New Delhi: India's first individual Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra has been conferred with the nation's 3rd highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan.
Bindra is the only sportsperson to get that award this year in the annual pre-Republic day honours announced by the government.
India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has got the Padma Shri.
This is his second government award in a year after winning the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in August.
Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh too has been named as a recipient of the Padma Shri.
