For the first time, Sunburn has brought down European style arena gigs. Nikhil Chinapa, festival director, says that the show is twice as big as last year. ‘‘We introduced three additional stages, giving us a total of seven. The stage designs that we worked on with the fabricators and production team are nothing short of stellar!’’ he adds. The main stage cover the major genres of electronic dance music - trance, house and techno; the other stages showcase fresh and unexplored talent. For the first time, Sunburn has on offer VVIP tables, a stage dedicated to live bands, and the live streaming of the event in 80 countries. Says an excited Priyanka Khedkar, a communication student, who is currently partying in Goa, “I have been regularly attending the Sunburn for the past two years now. This my third time and I am very excited! I am an ardent fan of electronic music and what better place for me than Sunburn because this festival has djs from all over the world. Plus, beaches are always fun!” While Priyanka is all geared up for the third day of beaches and electronic music, Vikas Borwankar, an ardent lover of electronic music, is disappointed that he’s missing out on all the fun. “I went for Sunburn last year and it was a lot of fun. But, unfortunately, this year I couldn’t make it,” he moans, adding on an optimistic note, “But, it’s good news that the festival is being streamed on Youtube. So I can atleast catch the fun online, even though it is not the same.”
