Ganjam: Top Naxal leader and Odisha's most wanted man Sabyasachi Panda has been arrested from the Ganjam district in Odisha. He had been on the run for over a decade.

Panda faces over 30 charges of murder, including that of VHP leader Laxmananda Saraswati and his four disciples in Kandhamal in 2008. He had also abducted two Italian tourists in 2012.

Panda gave up his career in politics to realise the dream of revolution. His father and brother left the CPM and later became members of the Biju Janata Dal.

His wife Subhashree was also arrested and jailed for two years for her alleged links with the out-lawed CPI-Maoist party but was subsequently acquitted of the charges in 2012.
