New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which has been probing illegal mining and irregularities in the allotment of leases to the Obulapuram Mining Company, will on Friday submit a status report before the Supreme Court.
A case in this regard was registered against OMC by the CBI in December 2009 following a request by the Andhra Pradesh government.
Former Karnataka minister G Janardhan Reddy and OMC managing director Srinivas Reddy are currently in jail over illegal mining charges.
The apex court had on September 23 asked the CBI to file a status report in the case.
It had also asked the CBI to probe the linkage of illegal mining in Karnataka's Bellary and Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh.
