Udupi: Karnataka Lokayukta and member of Lokpal Bill drafting committee N Santosh Hegde on Monday said there was "absolutely no differences" between him and social activist Anna Hazare on the issue of drafting the bill.
Talking to reporters here, he said the "so called differences" between them was nothing but a "media creation."
"I am with Hazare and will remain with him," he said.
He expressed surprise over "leakage" of his letter addressed to Hazare requesting him not to resume fast from August 16 if a strong anti-corruption bill was not prepared and instead take up "Bharat Sanchar" to strengthen his movement against corruption by garnering public support.
Hegde said he had already written letter and sent e-mail to Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee expressing his inability to attend the joint committee meeting scheduled for Monday and tomorrow due to pre-occupied engagements in Mangalore and Udupi.
"However to clear all doubts, I am leaving today for New Delhi to attend tomorrows meeting", he said.
He criticised the government's stand to keep Prime Minister out of the purview of Lokpal till he demits office. "In democracy, law should be applicable to everyone," he said.
