Pregnancy is that one time when a woman goes through various psychological and physiological changes. And when it is her first time, she may have various doubts popping in her head with regards to --- what to eat, what not to eat, and many more. And, most importantly, this is the time to make her feel secure and comfortable, along with fulfilling all the demans of the to-be mother. Apart from this, a mother is equally confused about how to go about once the child is born. For all the aforementioned reasons and more, The Birthplace, a birthing facility centre, will be soon launched in the city. Speaking about the Birthplace, Tarun Siripurapu, managing director, Birthplace Healthcare Pvt Ltd said, “Child birth is one of the most important milestones for a couple --- it is filled with positive anxiety and there is a significant opportunity in creating an experience that is reassuring, hassle free, personalised and also engages the husband and the family. For us, child birth is a lot more than just the delivery of the baby, the Birthplace views it as a nine-month journey along with the mother and offers a well tailored basket of services at every step of the way in an integrated fashion.”Located at Banjara Hills, The Birthplace is expected to consist of around 25 rooms, which will not only provide complete privacy to the expectant mother and her family, but can also be personalised as per their requirements. “For example, if an expectant mother wants the room to be in her favourite colour, or likes a particular genre of music or artist --- we will be more than happy to arrange for such a room, or that music,” adds Tarun. The room will be provided with everything that an expectant mother and her family could probably need. And once the mother is admitted at the centre for delivery (they like calling it as welcoming the expectant mother), till she delivers the baby and is discharged (theyr refer to it as seeing off the mother and new-born), the total sum is expected to come up to around `80,000. “The process of delivery along with other formalities may take three days or even a week, but the amount will be a fixed amount that they will have to pay --- nothing over and above the anticipated `80,000,” explains Tarun.   Yoga, lamaze classes and moreDuring pregnancy, the expectant mother has to go that extra mile to keep herself healthy. The Birthplace will provide help with that as well. “Once a woman conceives, she can come to us --- we will take care of the entire process --- from exercise, nutrition intake, to safe delivery and also other post-delivery issues,” explains Tarun. He further adds, “Our primary focus is to make sure they have a pleasant child birth experience. We will ensure a safe delivery.” The Birthplace will have state-of-the-art clinical equipments, which will take care of all the initial tests, like ultrasound, and more.  Beyond nine monthsPost-delivery blues are no less, says Tarun. He further adds, “A mum is always worried about getting back to shape. Apart from that, she also wants to know about lactation and other ways of keeping her baby healthy. We help them with as well.” The Birthplace will also help parents know about the various vaccinations that a baby needs to take in the first year. “We will be more than happy to guide them towards good paeditricians,” adds Tarun. The Birthplace is expected to open its doors to the expectant mothers in the city in March 2012.
