Patna: National Investigation Agency Director General Sharad Kumar is interrogating arrested Indian Mujahideen terrorist Muhammad Ahmad Zarar Siddibapa alias Yasin Bhatkal at the Bihar Military Police camp in Patna. Bihar Police officials have also grilled Bhatkal and he had admitted to his role in several blasts across the country, but denied that he was involved in the Mahabodhi Temple explosions in Bodh Gaya.
Bhatkal reportedly told the interrogators on Thursday that he will answer all questions while calmly adding that innocent people are killed in bomb blasts.
He and Asadullah Akhtar alias Haddi, who was also arrested on Wednesday evening at the India-Nepal border, will be brought to Delhi by a special Border Security Force plane on Friday.
The duo was arrested made after an operation that was carried out by the Intelligence Bureau, Research and Analysis Wing with support from the Bihar police. It took six months of the preparations of this operation.
His acts have killed more than 200 people in the country. Bhatkal is wanted in connection with a number of blast cases, including the 2010 blast at the German Bakery in Pune that killed 17 people.
A court in Motihari granted three days transit remand of Bhatkal and Akhtar. The remand was granted after they were produced in the court of Motihari Chief Judicial Magistrate The two were brought to the court amid tight security after prolonged interrogation by Bihar Police and NIA teams.
