East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Amitabh Kaushal on Wednesday reviewed the pace of enrolment for Adhaar cards. The move comes after state MGNREGA commissioner Arun Kumar asked Kaushal on Tuesday about starting direct benefit transfer for workers involved in the flagship scheme by November 15. Enrolment camps are being held at the panchayat level in each of the 10 blocks in the district.

Ranchi University (RU) has postponed the Basic BSc Nursing (first year) examination, which was scheduled from August 12. A. K. Mahto, examination controller of the varsity, released a notification on Wednesday to this effect, saying that new dates for the examination would soon be announced.

Ranchi: IT dept. raids real estate offices, seizes over Rs 50 lakhs
The income tax (IT) department on Wednesday conducted raids at 20 different offices of a Ranchi-based real estate company in a case of unaccounted investment. Sources said that the IT team seized about Rs 50 lakh in cash, besides documents related to 25 bank accounts, 22 bank lockers and investments of Pranami Builders Private Limited and its sister concern Parinidhi Builders.
