New Delhi Chalo by CNC on November 1

MADIKERI: Codava National Council (CNC) president N U Nachappa said that in continuation of the struggle to get Codava Autonomous Region (CAR), CNC will conduct ‘New Delhi Chalo’ on November 1.He told reporters on Wednesday that the CNC will conduct the agitation in front of the DC’s office on October 14.Without formation of the Codava Autonomous Region, the concept of Karnataka state would be incomplete, he said.Nachappa added that to mark the 20 years of CNC struggle for CAR, the Codava National Day will be observed on November 24.Nachappa said that Article 370 and 371 of the Constitution should come to their rescue and special Constitutional guarantee should be given to Codava tradition and customary laws too.“One can see special response given to Buddhists and Muslims and they have their own universities.Why shouldn’t Codavas have their own varsity? We want to be considered for the Ethno primitive minority tribal status in Kodagu,” he said.
