BANGALORE: The state government has appointed chairmen to four of the 12 academies and directors to three repertories (Rangayana) to Mysore, Shimoga and Dharwad, Minister for Kannada and Culture Govinda Karajol informed here on Tuesday.Addressing media persons, the minister said that professor M Lakshminarayana Samaga Malpe, has been named as the new chairman for the Karnataka Yakshagana-Bayalaata, Kasaragod Chinna to Karnataka Konkani Literature and Smt Vyjayanthi Kashi as the Chairperson of the Karnataka Music and Dance Academy.The appointments were made after completion of the term of the incumbents, Karajol said. He said that Smt Malathi Sudhir has been nominated as the new Chairperson of the Karnataka Naataka (Theatre) Academy which fell vacant after the appointment of the incumbent Dr B V Jayaram as the director of the Mysore Rangayana.
