BANGALORE: Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF) hosted ‘Nanhe Chitrakaar’, painting competition for kids, at Press Club of Bangalore recently with an aim to work towards betterment of less privileged kids. The competition saw an overwhelming response, with over 80 children participating from various NGOs like Deepa Academy for the differently abled, Suraksha Charitable Trust and others. Few kids with partially blind vision also participated in the competition. Art critic K V Subramanyam who was present at the event felicitated the winners of the competition. The competition was organised with an objective to extend an opportunity to the kids to capture their imagination on to a piece of paper besides the effort made towards exposing the less privileged children into the main stream. ‘Wildlife and Environment Conservation’ was the theme of the competition and was translated on to canvas in a riot of colours. William S Pinckney, chairman of Amway Opportunity Foundation said, “We are proud to hold this annual painting competition since 1999, where we bring the children from economically deprived sections together. This will certainly promote a better understanding and respect for each other.”
