HYDERABAD: MLA and suspended TDP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy and TRS leader Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy have called upon Telugu Desam legislators from Telangana to quit the Assembly as well as their party, and plunge headlong into the movement for a separate state.Speaking to newsmen at Assembly media point here on Friday, Nagam saidleader of the opposition in the state Assembly and Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu had no moral right to talk of Telangana since he proved himself to be a Samaikyavadi (integrationist). The TDP chief had indirectly said that his party had no stand on Telangana and that it was for the Centre to take a decision on the issue. In reality, it was Naidu who had promised in the Assembly that he would support a resolution on Telangana if it was moved in the House and also wrote a letter to Pranab Mukherjee Committee declaring his party's support to the demand for statehood to the region. In spite of all these developments, the Telangana TDP Forum members were behaving like Naidu's slaves without giving a damn for the self-respect of Telangana people. The Telangana TDP legislators should quit the party and the Assembly for the Telangana cause keeping in view the sacrifices made by hundreds of Telangana youths, he said, adding that all political parties should press the Centre for separation of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.Nagam warned that people would revolt against the Telangana Congress MPs if they withdrew their resignations submitted to the Lok Sabha Speaker. Both the Congress and TDP parties would be buried politically if they continued to cheat the people of Telangana, he said.Former minister Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, who resigned from the Telugu Desam as well as the Assembly to join the TRS, appealed to the Telangana TDP Forum members to come out of the TDP and join hands with other Telanganites for a united struggle to achieve the goal. “Chandrababu Naidu has the responsibility of keeping his promise made to the people of Telangana before the 2009 elections. In fact, Naidu had not talked of the two-eye theory before the elections. Both the Congress and the TDP took a U-turn on Telangana at the time of 2004 and 2009 elections respectively. If the Telangana TDP legislators want to remain in the TDP then they should at least convince their leader to stick to his earlier statement made in the Assembly,'' he said.
