Mumbai: Moving from dark and intense subjects to pure masala entertainer cinema, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is in an upbeat mood and says he is all set to make a 'musical' film, which will be lively and colorful.

Bhansali has dealt with myriad subjects in his films. His directorial debut 'Khamoshi', showed the struggle of a deaf and mute couple, 'Devdas' saw a jilted lover and 'Black' showed the struggles and travails of a blind, deaf and mute girl.

His last venture, 'Guzaarish' explored the life of a paraplegic and deals with another serious issue, euthanasia.

But with his upcoming films like 'My Friend Pinto', 'Rowdy Rathore' and 'Shirin Farhad' besides, his 'musical' film, it seems the director is in a different zone.

"I am back from intense and dark to colors...I am back to colors...I am back to full 'din tadak, paisa vasool' entertainer film. I am moving into that zone again. I am in a bright upbeat mood right now I will make a musical movie. In that film there will be lot of songs like those in 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' or 'Devdas'. There will be lots of song and dance," Bhansali told PTI in an interview.

"I am in an upbeat mood. So 'Rowdy Rathore' and 'Shirin Farhad', a weird comedy...all have taken me to another lane. I don't want to announce it....I will in June-July. I am still working on the musical film," he said.

Directed by Raghav Dar, 'My Friend Pinto' stars Prateik Babbar and Kalki Koechlin. Another project 'Rowdy Rathore', an action film starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha is directed by Prabhu Deva. His sister Bela's comedy film 'Shirin Farhad' stars ace choreographer Farah Khan, who is making her acting debut opposite Boman Irani.

All these projects are coming out from Bhansali's production house.

"'My Friend Pinto' is a humorous, a very young, full of life, colors and different and new characters. Ever since I heard the screenplay I was completely inspired..it brought so much smile to me. I am not comfortable making it and so I have produce it. I am happy about it."

"I have always enjoyed the 80s part of cinema and I liked Prabhu Deva's idea of 'Rowdy Rathore'. This title came from me and a lot of people were surprised. Since I was brought up in that Bhendi Bazaar area there is a 'tapori' in me. This film is less intelligent but full entertainment and time pass...its a paisa vasool film. And 'Shirin Farhad's is a weird funny film," he said.
